[00:00:05] Speaker A: If you can see it in your mind then it's already yours? The power's deep inside you Open up the doors don't let the doubt creep in don't let it take control? You're stronger than you know? You're brave and bold. [00:00:24] Speaker B: Hi, everybody. [00:00:25] Speaker C: I'm Laura and this is Aiden. [00:00:28] Speaker B: Hi. We're just filming a short introduction about what exactly Aiden's advocates is and why we're starting it. So we are forming this for just a few reasons. One reason being we're going to be sharing our own personal stories about, you know, what, what our life has been like, you know, navigating this journey of raising a child with special needs, what challenges we have faced, our own experiences, what successes we've seen, you know, throughout the years. We want this to be a safe place where people can just go and, you know, ask questions, you know, if they just need to talk about something. And they don't have that village because this can be a very isolating, very lonely road and you need to have a support system. That is one thing that I found because you don't know what it is like unless you're actually living it. No matter what people say, they can say we get it. No, you don't get it unless you actually live it every day. Another reason we are forming this is because we want this to be a place where people can go to just have those honest, open discussions about neurodivergence and all the beautiful things that we see in our special needs kiddos that are just going dismissed or overlooked every day and then talk about how can we get this message out there of inclusion in the community in their everyday, daily lives? How can we spread that message? How can we go about truly causing change for our kiddos? How can we get the challenges that they're still facing about being misunderstood, how they're being dismissed, excluded, targeted, things like that every day just for being their unique, beautiful selves. How can we change that? How can we make true change come about? So just open, honest discussions like that. I also want this just to be, you know, a place to heal, you know, the things we're going to share here. We will cry here, we will laugh here and hopefully bring about some healing on this, this journey we take. It truly is about just hopefully finding solutions and bringing about real change because it does need to happen. All of our kiddos are absolutely beautiful and unique in their own ways. Each mind of each child is just uniquely made. And one of the things that I've always believed in is that different does not make you less different is what. [00:03:15] Speaker C: Aiden different is beautiful. [00:03:17] Speaker B: Different is beautiful. And we have always stood by that and believed in that. So if this is something that you seem interested in or believe in, you know, tune into this because this will talk about things like this as Aiden's Advocates grows and goes on. But this is just a little introduction to what we're going to kind of touch on in Aiden's Advocates. So Aiden and I just wanted to. [00:03:42] Speaker C: Say what that we. [00:03:49] Speaker B: What did you want to say? [00:03:53] Speaker C: Thank you for listening to AAN's advocates. Stay tuned to more episodes from a. [00:04:00] Speaker B: Thank you. Thank you, everybody. Bye. [00:04:03] Speaker C: Accidentally elroed my mom.
